Keane criticises Man United as Martinez questions club ambition
Roy Keane has described Manchester United as a "circus" following Lisandro Martinez's outspoken criticism of the club's hierarchy after their defeat at Atlético Madrid. Martinez accused the management of lacking ambition in the aftermath of the 2-0 loss in the UEFA Champions League on 13 October.
The defeat left Manchester United 13th in the Premier League table with six points from six games, having won once, drawn three times, and lost twice. Their recent form includes draws against Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham, as well as losses to Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City.
Manchester United, based at Old Trafford in Greater Manchester, are currently struggling to find consistency in the top tier of English football. The team’s goal difference stands at zero, reflecting their mixed results so far this season.
The club's next fixture is an away Premier League match against Leeds United, which ended in a goalless draw on 18 October. This game represents another opportunity for Manchester United to improve their standing and address concerns raised by players and critics alike.
