Yankees may pursue Brewers All-Star if Bednar departs

The New York Yankees could target a Milwaukee Brewers All-Star player if their current pitcher David Bednar leaves in free agency. Bednar's potential departure has prompted the Yankees to consider strengthening their roster with a proven talent from the Brewers.

The Yankees, based in the Bronx, New York City, compete in Major League Baseball's American League East Division. Their recent form has been mixed, with two wins and three losses in their last five games, including a 3-4 defeat to the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Milwaukee Brewers have shown strong performance, winning their last five games, including a 6-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on 16 October. The Brewers face the Dodgers again on 20 October, which could impact their standing and the availability of players for potential transfers.

The Yankees recently transferred Oswaldo Cabrera to the Cincinnati Reds on 18 September, indicating some roster changes as they prepare for the next season. The possible loss of Bednar and the pursuit of a Brewers All-Star reflect ongoing adjustments within the team.
