Drake Maye joins Jameis Winston in NFL turnover record

Drake Maye has become part of an unwanted NFL record alongside Jameis Winston for dubious turnover history. This marks a challenging start for Maye in the league, reflecting difficulties in ball security.

The New England Patriots, Maye's team, are currently 11th in the NFL standings with one win and two losses from three games. Their recent form includes a heavy 35-6 defeat at the Jacksonville Jaguars and a narrow loss at the Seattle Seahawks, leaving them with a goal difference of minus 15.

The Patriots will next face the Buffalo Bills on 4 October, aiming to improve their position in the American Football Conference East division. The team is based in the Greater Boston area and competes in the NFL.

Drake Maye previously played for the Drake Bulldogs, the collegiate team of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, who have had mixed results this season with one win and three losses. The transition from college football to the NFL presents a significant step up in competition for Maye.
