Six teams clinch MLB playoff spots as Padres continue winning run

Six teams have secured their places in the 2026 MLB playoffs, with the San Diego Padres maintaining their strong form by winning their last two games against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Padres currently hold a positive momentum after a series of victories, including a 4-2 win on 25 September and a 5-1 win earlier in the series.

Major League Baseball features 30 teams split evenly between the National League and American League, with the Padres competing in the National League. Their recent results have improved their standing as the postseason approaches, reflecting their consistent performance in the closing stages of the regular season.

The Padres are currently engaged in a match against the Arizona Diamondbacks on 26 September, aiming to extend their winning streak. With six teams already clinched, the focus shifts to which other teams will secure playoff berths in the coming days as the regular season nears its conclusion.
