Freddy Peralta's strong pitching helps Rays tie ALCS
Freddy Peralta pitched six scoreless innings and recorded the fastest pitch of his career to help the Tampa Bay Rays secure a 3-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians. This victory levelled the American League Championship Series between the two teams.
The Rays, representing the AL East Division, have won three of their last five games, including two victories against the New York Yankees and a recent loss and win against the Guardians. Their latest success brings balance to the series.
The Guardians, part of the AL Central Division, have also shown strong form with four wins in their last five outings, including a 7-3 win over the Rays before their recent defeat. Both teams now prepare for the next game scheduled on 15 October, with the series tied.
Tampa Bay will aim to build on Peralta's performance to gain the upper hand, while Cleveland will look to respond and regain the lead in the championship series at their home ground.
