Five Golden State Valkyries join Unrivaled for new season
Gabby Williams and four other players from the Golden State Valkyries have been announced as part of the new Unrivaled rosters. These five athletes will aim to replicate their recent success after helping the Valkyries secure the WNBA title on 1 November with a 68-63 win over the Atlanta Dream.
The Golden State Valkyries finished the WNBA season second in the standings, with a record of 32 wins and 12 losses from 44 games. Their goal difference stood at +310, reflecting a strong overall performance. The team’s recent form included two wins and two losses in their last five matches, culminating in the championship victory against the Dream.
The Valkyries’ final series against the Atlanta Dream was closely contested, with the Dream winning some matches but ultimately falling short in the decisive game. The Valkyries secured wins both at home and away, showing resilience throughout the playoffs.
Looking ahead, the players joining Unrivaled will bring their championship experience to the new competition, aiming to build on their achievements with the Valkyries. The transition marks a significant step as they seek to continue their winning ways in the upcoming season.
