Falcons sign Andy Dalton and release Cooper Rush at quarterback

The Atlanta Falcons have signed quarterback Andy Dalton on 19 October, just 10 days after his release from Philadelphia. The move coincides with the Falcons releasing Cooper Rush on the same day, marking a change in their quarterback lineup.

Currently, the Falcons sit ninth in the NFL standings with a record of two wins and four losses from six games played. Their recent form includes two wins against the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers, but losses to the Chicago Bears, Baltimore Ravens, and Carolina Panthers have left them with a negative goal difference of 11 points.

The Falcons, based in Atlanta and competing in the NFC South division, will next face the San Francisco 49ers at home on 25 October. This match presents an opportunity for the team to improve their standing after a 23-31 defeat to the Chicago Bears on 18 October.

Alongside Dalton's arrival, the Falcons recently signed Jammie Robinson on 17 October, indicating a period of roster adjustments. The departure of Cooper Rush, who left on a free transfer, suggests the Falcons are seeking to strengthen their offensive options as the season progresses.
