What we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and how you stay in control.

1. Who we are

Golatooo (golatooo.com) is a free website that shows live scores, fixtures, results and standings for football and many other sports, together with news headlines, transfers, TV listings and automatically generated match analysis. This policy explains what personal data we process when you use the site, why, and what your choices are.

2. What data we collect

We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the service.

  • Technical data sent automatically by your browser: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, the pages you request, the referring page and timestamps. These appear in our server and security logs.
  • Preferences stored in your browser: theme (light/dark), language, time zone, and your favourites (teams, matches, competitions). Favourites live in your browser storage only and are not sent to our servers unless you choose to send them to us.
  • Information you send us on purpose: name, email address, message, an optional match link and an optional screenshot when you use a contact, bug, score-correction or logo-report form.
  • Usage statistics, where enabled: which pages and features are used, measured with Google Analytics 4 and/or Plausible.
  • Advertising data: when advertising is shown, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies or use similar identifiers, as described below.

3. How we use your data

  • To deliver the site, keep it fast, secure and available, and to detect abuse (rate limiting, spam and fraud prevention).
  • To answer the messages and correction requests you send us and to fix the issues you report.
  • To understand which sports and features are useful so we can improve them.
  • To show advertising that funds the service. You can decline personalised ads (see Advertising).

5. Advertising and Google

Golatooo is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites and to measure ad performance. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Where required (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland) ads are personalised only after you give consent through the consent message, which is provided by a Google-certified consent management platform. If you decline, only non-personalised ads (based on the page content and general location) are shown.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) or aboutads.info, and you can review how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

We never place ads over live scores, and ad slots have a reserved size so the page does not jump while they load.

6. Analytics

Where enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 and/or Plausible to count visits and understand how pages and features are used. Google Analytics uses cookies; Plausible is cookieless and does not track individuals across sites. We use the collected data in aggregate and do not attempt to identify individual visitors. Analytics scripts are loaded only after any required consent has been given.

7. Third-party data and links

Scores, fixtures, standings, transfers, TV listings and images come from third-party data providers and are processed on our servers. Your browser talks only to our own site: it does not contact those providers directly, so providers do not receive your IP address or any information about you from us.

News headlines link to the publishers’ websites and encyclopedic summaries link to Wikipedia. When you click such a link you leave our site and the other site’s own privacy policy applies.

8. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers acting on our behalf and when the law requires it:

  • Hosting, content delivery and infrastructure providers that run the site.
  • Email and support tooling used to receive and answer your messages.
  • Google (AdSense and, if enabled, Analytics) for advertising and measurement.
  • Authorities or courts, when we are legally obliged to disclose data or to protect our rights and users.

9. How long we keep data

  • Server and security logs: up to 30 days, unless needed longer to investigate abuse.
  • Support messages, correction requests, logo reports and screenshots: up to 24 months after the request is closed, then deleted.
  • Analytics: aggregated statistics are kept as long as they are useful; provider-side retention is configured to the shortest practical period.
  • Preferences, time zone and favourites: stored in your browser until you clear your site data.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise a right, email [email protected]; we may ask you to confirm your identity and will answer within the time required by law (normally one month). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California residents: we do not sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies can count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law; you can opt out through the cookie settings and Google Ads Settings described above.

11. Children’s privacy

The site is a general-audience sports service and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe a child has sent us data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. International transfers and security

Our providers may process data in countries outside your own. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. We protect data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and rate limiting, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
