Warriors’ $40m signing to miss training camp with injury
The Golden State Warriors will start their NBA preseason with a setback as their $40 million offseason signing, a rim protector, is set to miss training camp due to injury. The veteran player’s absence adds to the Warriors’ roster concerns ahead of the new campaign.
The Warriors, based in San Francisco, compete in the NBA’s Pacific Division of the Western Conference. They have not yet played any games this season and currently stand fourth in the division with no wins or losses recorded. The team recently added Graham Ike on 21 September, while Elias Ralph and Jacksen Moni left on free transfers earlier in the month.
Golden State’s next scheduled game is against the LA Clippers on 4 October. The team will need to adjust their preparations and rotations to compensate for the missing rim protector as they aim to maintain their competitive standing in the league.
The injury to the new signing comes at a crucial time when the Warriors are looking to solidify their roster after offseason changes. The team’s ability to manage this challenge will be tested as they approach the start of the NBA season and face a strong Clippers side in their opener.
