Dodgers adjust Shohei Ohtani's role amid slump

The Los Angeles Dodgers made a notable decision regarding Shohei Ohtani's lineup position in Game 3, aiming to help the four-time MVP overcome his recent slump. Contrary to earlier suggestions from manager Dave Roberts, Ohtani was not benched but saw a change in his role, marking a first in his tenure with the team.

This adjustment comes after the Dodgers suffered a 7-4 defeat to the Milwaukee Brewers on 12 October, continuing a challenging stretch that includes two losses against Milwaukee and a recent loss at home to the Atlanta Braves. The team’s recent form shows inconsistency, with three losses and two wins in their last five games, reflecting the difficulties they face in the competitive National League West Division.

Looking ahead, the Dodgers will host the Milwaukee Brewers again on 15 October in a crucial MLB fixture. This game offers an opportunity for the Dodgers to reverse their fortunes and for Ohtani to regain his form as the team battles to improve its standing in the league.

The Dodgers, based in Los Angeles, compete in Major League Baseball's National League West Division and are striving to maintain competitiveness despite recent setbacks. The strategic adjustment to Ohtani's lineup highlights the team's efforts to adapt and find solutions during this period of uneven performance.
