Steve Kerr confirms Warriors' $9M veteran trio for season opener
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has announced that the $9 million veteran trio will be included in the team's roster for their opening night game against the Los Angeles Lakers. This decision finalises the back half of the Warriors' squad for the regular NBA season.
The Warriors currently sit fifth in the NBA standings with a 4-2 record and a positive point difference of 45. Their recent form includes wins over the Portland Trail Blazers and Sacramento Kings, as well as a victory against the Lakers earlier this season.
The Warriors will face the Lakers again on 22 October, continuing their Pacific Division rivalry. The Lakers are placed 11th with a 2-3 record and a negative point difference of 25, having lost to the Denver Nuggets in their latest match.
Both teams compete in the NBA's Western Conference Pacific Division, with the Warriors based in San Francisco and the Lakers in Los Angeles. The upcoming game will be crucial for both sides as they seek to improve their standings early in the season.
