Jets defense achieves rare NFL milestone in 2026 season

The New York Jets' defense has made notable history early in the 2026 NFL season, marking an achievement not seen since 1999. Their strong defensive performances have stood out despite the team’s mixed results so far.

Currently, the Jets sit 11th in the NFL standings with two wins and three losses from five games played. Their recent form includes victories against the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans, balanced by defeats to the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, and Green Bay Packers.

The Jets will next face the New England Patriots on 18 October in an AFC East division clash. This match presents an opportunity for the Jets to build on their defensive success and improve their position in the league.

The New York Jets are part of the American Football Conference East division and compete in the National Football League, which consists of 32 teams split evenly between the AFC and the NFC. Their defensive milestone adds a significant highlight to their 2026 campaign.
